Jennifer Hurd is
a Senior Consultant for College Survival. She also coordinates the College
Survival training workshops for clients all across the country. Her
territory covers the Southeast, the Heartland, and Mid-Atlantic. Jennifer
began her college teaching career at Arkansas State University-Beebe. At
this community college she designed the Developmental Reading Program and
taught English. Jennifer was instrumental in creating the Freshman Seminar
Course at ASU-Beebe, and she wrote the Freshman Seminar text. Prior to
joining Houghton Mifflin College Survival, she worked at Harding University
with Student Support Services as the academic coordinator. In this role she
coordinated a peer-tutoring program and taught a study skills course. An
active member of several professional organizations, Jennifer served as
president of the Arkansas Association for Developmental Education,
conference chair for the 1996 NADE conference. She continues to present at
state and national conferences. Jennifer earned her Ed.D. at Memphis State
University in Curriculum and Instruction (Reading). She earned her M.Ed in
Reading and her B.A. in Elementary Education at Harding University. She is
also qualified to teach English, reading, research, education, and study
skills. Her depth of knowledge and experience serves her well in her
capacity as a College Survival Senior Consultant. Jennifer has two
daughters, Amy, 24 and Sally, 22. In her spare time she also teaches second
grade at church and holds Bible teacher workshops across the United States.
She is the author of Gopher the Facts: Bible Games for Primaries. |
